All fixed now, only one head was damaged, both now skimmed so with the new o2 censor right in my eye line all should be well.
Thanks to Tony Morris who was at the track, he works for Bow Laws in the US who make trick carbs. He was very generous with help and some new air corrector jets that should put us very close to our correct air fuel ratio 12.8-13.2.
We had been running dangerously lean that was made even more severe because I had joined the hood scoop directly to the carb, thus creating even more air flow directly to the engine, we have also had the headers wrapped to reduce under bonnet heat.
That will increase power by decreasing the under bonnet temp, bonus for me is it will make the inside of the car a little cooler on a hot summers day.
The old Holley regulator has also been replaced by a new 4 port Barry Grant one, so no more fuel restriction issues we hope.
